Optimized Design of a Multistage Centrifugal Pump Based on Volumetric Loss Reduction by Auxiliary Blades

Throat ring leakage is a major factor deteriorating the performance of multistage centrifugal pumps. This paper focuses on optimization pumps by incorporating principle Tesla valve and adding an auxiliary set blades to impeller body. By changing direction magnitude leaking fluid’s flow, volume throat reduced. The study results demonstrate that experimental error in head calculation with numerical simulation at optimal working condition was 0.65%, verifying accuracy method. decreased up approximately 28.99% compared original structure, which significantly increased pump’s overall efficiency. Near operating point, efficiency 8.1% 8.7%, respectively. larger flow rate, greater improvement total high-flow conditions, 116.45% 110.84%, blade structure introduces non-contact seal which, traditional structures, improves life reduces costs. Additionally, can shift point pump towards higher improving delivery capability.
